For today's post, I've made a set of Halloween tags featuring these super-cute dimensional monster stickers I bought...
I just think these little guys have so much personality! I mean, check out the monster with his hand on his hip. :D
Here's the video I made showing how to make 'em!

SUPPLIES USED
To be up front, these are affiliate links, folks! For some products, the exact version I have is no longer on Amazon, so I've linked to the version that is available.
I made these projects on Sunday and Monday and meant to post them earlier this week, but I've been kind of distracted the past couple of weeks, which is why I haven't blogged that much.
Reason for my distraction: I've renewed my interest in hand-carving my own stamps! :D This is a craft that I REALLY loved years ago -- before I started card making -- and I didn't realize how much I missed it until I brought out my lino cutter and started carving again. While I do love stamping with stamps that I've bought, I don't think there's anything quite like stamping with a hand-carved stamp. It's very rewarding, and there's something very personal about it. I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it already, and the supplies needed are not very expensive!
Okay, let's get to the projects I've been meaning to share! I made these with the September 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit, "Wickedly Sweet Treat"...
First up is this treat bag I made...
I used dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set and Happy Haunting DSP to create the treat bag. I cut one of the paper bags from the kit to start my layering. I used the kit's stamp set to stamp the images and sentiment, and I fussy cut the images. I was inspired by a card shown on page 42 of the holiday catalogue -- I thought it was so cute how they used a twig as an accent, so I used one of the straws from the kit in a similar way. The raffia is from the kit, too. I used this sketch from the challenge over at The Paper Players [PP264] as my starting point, but I'm too late to link up my project!
Next up is this treat bag, complete with punny sentiment...
This is Humble's favourite of the three. :D He really seems to like the fringe-y paper bag! This project is very similar to the kit's design, but I left out the straw and didn't use the kit's stamps on the tag. I created the sentiment using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp and Washi Label Punch [I trimmed down the label]. The adorable horse sticker is from Making Memories. I added googly eyes just for fun! :D
My last project for today is this card...
For this card, I cut one of the fringe-y pieces to cover part of my card base. I used one of the journaling cards from the Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Project Life Card Collection as my main panel [love that kraft journaling cards are included in this collection!]. I thought there was a little too much space between the stamped sentiment and the flourish, so I added a Rich Razzleberry Candy Dot -- I'm not 100% sure about it, but I didn't know what else to add! :D
Here's a look at what was included in the September 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit:
The full kit makes eight treat bags and includes the stamp set and a Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Spot. While it's too late for new Paper Pumpkin subscribers to get this kit, the refill kit is in the store now [it just doesn't include the stamps and ink].
Thanks for stopping by -- hope you have a crafty weekend! :o)
I chose to go diagonally and focus on Ribbon, Embossing and Sequins! I used several of the new holiday catalogue items [available Sept. 1st] to make these:
Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies
Happy Haunting Cardstock Pack
Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Spider Web Doilies
Into the Woods 3/8" Cotton Ribbon
I love making these pillow boxes! They're a great size for decorating. I'm usually not that much of a doily person, but I had to get those Spider Web Doilies because they look so neat! They're white on the back, so I thought it would be nice to really show that off against a black pillow box.
I recently got my Washi Label Punch in the mail, and I already love that thing!! The punched labels were just the right size for my little tags there. I brought out my Alphabet Rotary Stamp again to stamp the "BEWARE" and "DANGER" -- I love that stamp! I used Silver Sequin Trim on my orange box, and the orange sequin trim is from the Paper Pumpkin Boo-Tifull Bags Refill Kit, which has sold out. :o( I was hoping to get a second refill kit, too -- dang!
I covered up a lot of the embossing on my pillow boxes, so here's a clearer look at the embossing folder's design:
Hello, folks! Stopping in to share some important tips I read on this post at The Animal Rescue Site! I have their list of 9 tips below, but please click on that link to read about their tips in more detail.
Halloween Pet Safety Tips
Limit front door access. Strangers, costumes and loud noises can be very frightening to pets.
Make sure your pet is wearing current ID tags. A glow-in-the-dark or reflective collar would also be very helpful, just in case your pet darts out an open door.
Keep your pet inside.
Always supervise costumed pets.
Do a costume 'dress rehearsal'. If you want to dress up your pet, only do so if you can tell that they don't mind, and take time to get them accustomed to the costume. Make sure the costume is SAFE, that it fits properly, and that it isn't annoying or uncomfortable to your pet. Make sure the costume doesn't have dangling pieces that could be chewed off and choked on.
Keep things like pumpkins and corn out of your pet's reach.
Watch candles carefully.
Keep ALL candy and wrappers out of your pet's reach. All forms of chocolate can be dangerous, and sometimes lethal, to pets. Foil wrappers can cause health problems, too, if ingested. Please move the trash bin to a safe height.
Lock candy safely away from pets [not only during Halloween but also before and after]. If your kids like to stash candy in their rooms, make sure they pick high enough hiding places where pets can't reach the candy, or lock the candy in a cabinet. One of our canine pals, Lou, had a very serious incident with chocolate being left out at her house one Christmas, so please be careful to keep candy/chocolate away from your pet.
And now for a Halloween project, just in case you need a last-minute treat packaging idea...
:D I thought it would be fun to make a Halloween project with the moose from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Arctic! I used his coordinating sentiment stamp but just inked the "it moose be" part. I also selectively inked the "Halloween" on a stamp from Spooktacular. Thank you, Kelly, for the cute stamps! Give Daphne a hug for me! :D
To create his mask, I just trimmed a die-cut I had of a cat, punched a couple of small holes and threaded some linen thread through. I'm not sure if the moose looks creepy now, but I think he's fun anyway! :D Ha! To make the clothespin match the little enamel stars, I just covered it with purple washi tape! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a fun Halloween!!
Before this week, I should've had this sign hanging from the craft room door as a warning of the craft supply chaos inside. Ha! I made this door hanger over two years ago and it still makes me laugh. :D I say "craft room", but it's not just for my crafting! It's also the home of one of Humble's forts, some of his Humble-sized furniture and about half of his toys. :o) It's more of a fun room, I should say! :D
This week has been a pretty productive one -- not with that much actual crafting, but with organizing! :D I've wanted to re-organize my craft supplies for some time now because the way I was storing a lot of my supplies just wasn't working. I had a lot of stuff in shoe boxes and plastic bins, and the stuff that was on shelves was really crammed together, so whenever I reached to get a stamp or something, a bunch of other things would get knocked to the floor. Ha! The supplies I tend to use the most are the ones that are easily visible, easy to get to and easy to find when I'm looking for something specific, so I knew something had to change. I really want to get better use out of ALL of my supplies and not just some of 'em.
I've had my eye on the Raskog cart from Ikea for a while now, so I finally splurged and got a few. I ended up getting four -- two for the craft/fun room, and two for the living room [yes, my craft supplies spill into the living room, too!]. I really like the size of the carts, having open shelves/trays instead of drawers [so things are easy to see!], and the fact that they're on wheels. :D And they're super-cute! I'm still not completely done with re-organizing things, but I hope to have pictures to post next week.
I just wanted to warn you guys that the next several days will be heavy with the re-share posts! Even though I started my blog over, there are a lot of old projects that I love and want to have up on my blog again. :o) I'll have some new stuff to share next week.
Hope you've been having some good crafty times! Until next post!
Since I've started my blog over, I thought it would be nice to reshare some old favourites once in a while. It might be an odd time to share Halloween projects, but I was browsing through craft supplies a few days ago and saw one of my Halloween cards posted! Here's that card again...
:o) A lot of love went into this card! I used Prismacolor pencils to do all of the colouring -- I love the look of pencil crayon colouring on different cardstock colours!
:o) This one is a non-Halloween card using some Halloween stamps and alphabet stamps from Lawn Fawn. The spiderweb stamp actually has "Happy Halloween" in the middle of it, but I just used the outer parts of the stamp to create my border. Well, it's not really a border, but you know what I mean. Just using a part of a stamp is a great way to stretch your stamp collection! The colouring on this card was also done with Prismacolor pencils.
:o) I thought this little guy was fun because of his vellum ghost costume! I die-cut the monster and "BEWARE" using my Making Memories Slice machine [remember that machine?!]. I just used a pencil to loosely trace around the monster die-cut on a piece of vellum to make his costume.
:o) Love shaped cards! I die-cut the ghost from glittered cardstock [he's snazzy and jazzy] using my Slice machine. I inked the embossed spiderwebs with a q-tip and pigment ink. This little guy appeared in Card Creations: Volume 9.
If the date stamps on my photos are correct, the first two cards were made in 2011, and the last two cards were made in 2010. How time flies, eh?
