Something New For My Crafting

Hey, folks!
I've been working on putting together some craft videos for my blog! :D  It's something I've thought about for a long time, so it's been fun to actually try it -- even though I do NOT know what I'm doing.  I learned that very quickly. :D
I don't know how to do anything fancy or slick with editing and graphics [I don't think fancy or slick suits me anyway, to be honest], so my videos are going to look very 'diy'.  I can't promise you even lighting or nice looking hands [my hands are scary looking!], but I do love crafting, so hopefully that will come across. :o)

I hope to get my first actual crafting video posted tomorrow, but for now, here is the 'intro' that I made for the beginning of my videos!

:o)
Had a lot of fun making this!

If my embed code happens to not work for you, you can click here to watch!

Thanks for stopping by! :D

One Off the Ol' Bucket List!

Hello there!
I'm very happy to say today that I can cross one more thing off my bucket list...

One of my cards landed on the cover! :o)
WOO-HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

This is Paper Crafts magazine's March/April 2011 issue [
Image courtesy of Paper Crafts magazine, of course!] -- I haven't seen the issue in-person yet, but I'm so excited for the day it arrives in the mail!!

Here's a closer look at my card...

:o)
*Jazz hands!*
What the picture doesn't really show is that the cloud paper is shimmery!

It's a little difficult to see in the picture, but the patterned balloons were attached over the white cardstock ones with dimensional adhesive.  Also, the largest hot air balloon was attached to the card with two layers of dimensional adhesive [as opposed to the single layer for the other two] just to vary the dimension a little!

Thanks for stopping by today!! :o)

Stamp It! Techniques and a Fun Announcement!

Hello there!
You may have seen Paper Crafts' super-fun Stamp It! Techniques issue out on newsstands!  I wish I had made more things to submit to this issue, but I just couldn't get my act together at the time.  Ha!  I was, however, really overjoyed when they accepted this here project because it's one of my fave submissions!  I present to you...
Birthday Monster Box [formerly known as Ferocious Monster Gift Box]!

:o)
I love that little monster!!  The monster, his fiery breath and the buildings are from My Cute Stamps' Eeek! A Monster! stamp set [funtastic!].  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Sophie's Sentiments stamp set [that stamp set gets a ton of use!].

And speaking of Lawn Fawn, I have a really fun announcement to make!

Kelly invited me to join the Lawn Fawn design team.

AAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!

How crazy is that?!  I'm a little nervous but also over the moon -- it's still kind of unreal to me.  And I'm not the only new team member!  The card making super-talent Julie Campbell is joining the team, too!  Woo-Hooooo!!!

Check out the Lawn Fawn blog today for a sneak peek at the new stamp set to be released on February 10th, and tomorrow we'll be sharing projects made with this new stamp set!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! :o)

Paper Crafts!

The latest issue of Paper Crafts magazine, the November/December 2010 issue, includes my first published card!  Wa-hoo! :o)  Here's the birthday card I made, inspired by a super-fun sketch from the issue -- it can be found on page 23, alongside three more interpretations of the sketch by other paper crafters!

:o)

This was an extra fun one to make!

A Card with Fabric Tape

Here's a card I made yesterday for the current fabric challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog:

:o)

I know fabric tape isn't anything new on the market, but this is the first time I've used fabric tape on a card. :o)  Quite easy and fun to use!

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the flower is made out of vellum.  I was thinkin' that the brad's stitched design was a bit "fancy" next to the polka dots and stripes on the fabric tape strips, but I wanted to use it anyway because the colours were a nice match [and it seemed to go well with the fabric theme!]. :o)
