Thank you for the super-nice comments about the Lawn Fawn announcement -- I'm genuinely moved! :o)
Today I'm sharing a project made with the new Lunar Lights stamp set that will be released on February 10th. This stamp set can be used for any occasion, but I chose to make a Chinese New Year project because -- this probably won't be surprising -- I'm Chinese. :o) And seriously, it ain't easy to find craft supplies that fit well with a Chinese New Year theme. Last year when I was making cards for this occasion, I could only find one sheet of China-themed stickers from K&Co. Ha! So this stamp set is pretty darn neat to have.
I bring you...
Chinese New Year Candy Treat Bag!
:o)
I used one of the larger lanterns and one of the sentiments from Lunar Lights, and I also used one of the flowers from Petite Florals to add a bit of detail to the lantern. I think I'll paper piece the larger lanterns in the near future because they're a great size for easy paper piecing! I die-cut the treat window with a Nestie Label Nine and punched the top flap with a Martha border punch.
This was quite fun to make, and I thought the general idea could also be used for upcoming Valentine's Day treats!

This is such a fun treat bag project! I love that beautiful hanging lantern ornament on it!
LOVE LOVE LOVE how you added the flower from the other set to the lantern! SO CLEVER!
I love this Chan. I love that you stamped some floral images inside the lantern! And I love your treat bag. How did you make it? Is that a tutorial you would be willing to share? I love your project and am so pleased that you are now part of the LF Design Team. Can't wait to see all your gorgeous creations..... :)
Nice, rich colors! I love all of your work and this is no exception.
It turned out so cute. I love the idea of putting the flowers on the lantern. Have a great day.
Beautiful coloring on the lantern, I love the colors of the whole package! Just lovely!
wowza...you rocked that set!
Hi Chan! I have genuinely enjoyed seeing your work pop up EVERYWHERE lately! One of my best friend's last name is Vuong too. It's quite rare, she's Chinese but born in Saigon, I guess Wong in a Vietnamese spelling, hee! Congrats on the LF dt. :)
How absolutely fun!!! You did such a wonderful job here!! Love how you combined the sets - that lil flower looks like it was meant to be there!! So gorgeous!
I'm so happy your on the LF DT I'm always so SO inspired by your creations!!
Love your project Chan! So cute - as ever ;)
It reminds me of when we went to a Chinese friend's wedding recently. So beautiful in red and gold. I made all their stationery and I know what you mean about tricky to find Chinese-theme craft supplies! I had a rubber stamp custom-made to suit and I'm glad that the couple loved it all.
Love your project--perfect for CNY! Congrats on joining the Lawn Fawn DT, too!
I love the bright colors on your card. I like the bright colors like red, orange, yellow and some of the greens..
OK. I have to say... you rocked this project! I love anything 'out of the box' & this is just perfect! Love the Chinese wrappers. Brilliant!
This is gorgeous, Chan! I LOVE those candies. :D
