Fun Punny Card

Here's another sentiment that reminds me of my cat [who happens to make me laugh every day]:

I *love* this little duck!!  I got this fun set of punny animal sentiments not that long ago in a mail order, and I've been thinkin' about making a duck card since I ordered the set! :o)

Hope your day has been a crafty one!

A Card with Fabric Tape

Here's a card I made yesterday for the current fabric challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog:

I know fabric tape isn't anything new on the market, but this is the first time I've used fabric tape on a card. :o)  Quite easy and fun to use!

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the flower is made out of vellum.  I was thinkin' that the brad's stitched design was a bit "fancy" next to the polka dots and stripes on the fabric tape strips, but I wanted to use it anyway because the colours were a nice match [and it seemed to go well with the fabric theme!]. :o)

A Flower and a Smile

I saw this challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog yesterday and thought it'd be fun to play along!  Here's the card I made:

I love this sentiment -- it's very Humble. :o)

I was inspired, of course, by the colours and flower in the challenge photo -- and also the cute wavy edges on the dishes!  And there I go again with another shaped card! :o)

Major Love for Shaped Cards

I really love making shaped cards -- even more than making rectangular cards!  They're so much FUN.

While I designed the card with a slight lean to the left, it's leaning a lot more to the left in the photograph because that's the only way I could get the card to stand up for the picture.  Ha!
Normally, I prefer spelling out whole words, but "you" would have looked a bit cramped in the banner, I think.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope this card brought you a smile today! :o)

Extra! Extra!

There's a challenge over at the CARDS blog to create something using product that's over a year old.  I've been cardmaking for about a year now, so I just looked through some of my earliest supply purchases...and gave myself the tsk tsk of shame seeing how much product I haven't used yet!  Goodness gracious. ;o)

I decided to use some fun October Afternoon stuff I had left to make this card:

Quite fun to make!  Aside from the red cardstock and paper clip, the materials I used are from the Hometown collection.  The file folder shape is a die-cut that came in the collection, and I just attached folded cardstock to the back to create the card base.  I love doing that -- it's a quick way to make fun shaped cards! :o)  The "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" is a journaling card that I cut so that I could arrange the pieces at different angles.  The crossword and lady are pieces that I cut out from patterned paper from the collection.  I love doing that, too -- it's a fun way to use patterned paper! :o)

Oh, Happy Day

I love, love mini albums.  There's something about holding a chunky little book in your hands with all of its layers and embellishments and pockets and ribbons and extra surprises...there's nothing like The Mini Album.

I made this little guy for the Cosmo Cricket sketch challenge.  I turned the sketch upside down.  The inside pages aren't finished yet, but I thought the sketch made for a fun cover!  I used the Joy Ride collection -- *love* the colours of that collection.  I really enjoyed making this! :o)

Green, Green and More Green

Before going to bed yesterday, I came across a challenge on Caardvarks to make a monochromatic card.  Since they're featuring Core'dinations cardstock, I decided to use some of my green Core'dinations to make this card today:

Clean and simple.  And I'm jazzed about it!
I really like "rumpling" scallops like that for added dimension.  And while I don't normally do a whole lot of sanding, I really like the sanded Swiss Dots -- fun!

Thanks for the sandpaper, dad! :o)

A Shiny and Happy Tomato

Last night I made this card for the Cosmo Cricket colour challenge:

I'm very happy with how it turned out!  The happy tomato and the bright colours make me smile.  I really love shaped cards -- they're so fun to make!!  My camera did something funny with the colours, but the ribbon and yummy vintage button are very similar greens in-person. :o)

I looove that green button, and I've been hanging onto it for a long time.  Sometimes it's a little tough to use certain supplies when I really, really love 'em, but then I remind myself that it's way more fun to use them than to "save" them. :o)

A Collection of Mine

I will say it no matter how nerdy it makes me sound:
Every time I walk by my button collection, I start smiling.

I love the happy colours.  Some of these little guys are vintage!  I think the flower-shaped buttons are especially cheerful...

And who can resist that Humpty Dumpty button?!  Adorable!!

Hope you have a crafty day!
