I'm back with another card! :D
I just found Your Next Stamp this past April, and I'm really enjoying their stamps and dies! I'm usually not drawn to people stamps [I'm all about animal stamps!], but this elf is pretty cute! He's from their Holiday Buddies stamp set [which I bought because of the animals, of course!], and after I coloured him with alcohol markers, I die-cut him with the coordinating die. I can't say "I coloured him with Copics" because I used a mix of different brands. Copics are great markers, but they're way overpriced, so I just buy what I can find at a good price!
I used the Little Notes stamp set and die set to make that super-cute little clipboard. I have a thing for anything with an office theme, so I was so happy to finally get the Little Notes stamps and dies during YNS's 40% off sale! I die-cut the clip of the clipboard from silver cardstock, and I used a black fineliner to write what's on the little note paper. :D
I die-cut the little holly using Taylored Expressions' Little Bits Holly die -- I die-cut multiples of the berries and layered them to give them some dimension. For the card base, I used We R Memory Keepers dies [linked below]. The card measures just under 4" x 4", so it's a cute little size that just seems easy to decorate and finish. I shared three more projects using these dies in this blog post. :o)

This file folder shaped card appeared in 75 Creative Card Challenges! Most of the stuff on this card is from October Afternoon's 9 to 5 collection, which is one of my favourite collections from OA! When I first got my 9 to 5 supplies in the mail, I was so excited and made four cards in one sitting -- this card was one of them!

I made this card way back in 2010 with supplies from another October Afternoon collection called Hometown. I remember how much fun it was to make this and love how it turned out! :D

I have such a fondness for this card! I made this in 2010 with a stamp from Lawn Fawn's Hello Friend stamp set. Being such a fan of office themed things, I have a lot of little clips and love making stuff where it looks like pieces of paper are clipped to the card. Inspiration: clipboards!
By some crazy luck, this card was one of the projects chosen to be replicated for display in Archiver's stores when they started carrying Lawn Fawn products. I couldn't believe it! The stores needed the sample projects within a very short time frame, and certain supplies needed to be substituted for things that could be purchased at Archiver's, so I couldn't make the cards myself. I was able to help, though, with the stamping and fussy cutting of the letters and happy faces! Here's what they all looked like:

That's actually all I could do -- there wasn't enough time for anything else! I packed up the pieces in little baggies and sent them to Lawn Fawn via FedEx, and guess what? FedEx was LATE. The package was checked by customs and they actually opened everything! Can you imagine the reaction to all of those little letters? When the package was delivered, the LF folks and some volunteers put all of the samples together in time for Archiver's. Amazing!

Another fun one to make! I made this card in 2011 with various Lawn Fawn stamps. I was going for a "pen doodles on a notebook page" look! :D

Here's another card I made in 2011 using Lawn Fawn stamps. Love that notebook page die and thought I'd use the die-cut horizontally, just for a little change. I knew I wanted to make the sentiment multi-coloured, but when I tried inking the stamp with the markers I had, I didn't quite get the look I was going for...so I came up with this! :D Some crazy fussy cutting, but it was worth it!

Something really surprised me today! I visited the Paper Crafts blog and saw that Kerri Miller did a post with some of my cards! Thank you so much, Kerri, for the kind things you wrote -- it really was a big, happy surprise! And the shout-out to Humble? Made me even happier!! :D As Kerri mentioned, he really is the apple of my eye. :o)
Kerri mentioned the word "effortless", which I take as a huge compliment that I do NOT deserve. I repeat: NOT deserve! To be totally honest, it takes me a lot of effort just to come up with an idea and craft each project. I mean A LOT. :D I move stuff around/change my mind a hundred times and constantly say to myself, "Does that look weird?! That looks weird, right? I can't even tell!" Sometimes I feel like I don't know what I'm doing. No kidding. But that doesn't keep crafting from being some serious fun!

I love office-themed stuff! I actually submitted this card to several different Paper Crafts calls before it was picked, so the lesson here is, don't give up! :D This card caught a lucky break in the June 2014 issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking!

No freshly-crafted stuff to share today, but here's a card I made last June that I haven't shared yet -- this one features Lawn Fawn's super-fun Just My Type stamp set!

I submitted this card to a couple of publication calls but it wasn't chosen. I really dig this card, though, and I just chalk it up to "win some, lose some". :o)
The patterned papers are from October Afternoon, and so are the stickers along the left side. I used some chipboard buttons that I had in my stash to create a fun background for the typewriter [isn't that typewriter stamp awesome?].

My Lawn Fawn order arrived in yesterday's mail -- WOO-HOO! I was surprised that it only took 7 days, considering the holiday season and the fact that it had to cross the border! I couldn't wait to play with the new stamp sets, so here's a card I made yesterday evening with the super-cute Hello Friend stamp set!

Here's another sentiment that's very Humble to me...he makes me feel like the luckiest goose. Man, am I mushy about my cat or what? :o)
I had made a somewhat similar design for a recent publication call -- that card didn't get picked up, but I still love the idea and wanted to use it again [and I'll probably use it again and again and again -- ha!].
Don't you just love the larger-sized sentiments from Hello Friend? It's neat to have the sentiment be the focal point for a change! :o)
ETA: Just wanted to answer a question I received about the inks used! :o) The black ink I used is Versafine in Onyx Black -- it stamps nice and crisp [I don't get the same results with every single Versafine ink colour, but the Onyx Black is, in my humble opinion, a gotta-have]. The orange happy face is Versafine in Habanero, which is probably my favourite orange -- it's such a great, rich shade! The rest of the colours I used are VersaMagic chalk inks, which are my FAVOURITE inks to use -- I just love 'em!! The colours are beautiful, I love the matte finish of the chalk inks, and I love the crisp, clean impressions I can get with them. They're the dreamiest things to ever happen to my stamps! :o) Hope this helps!

There's a challenge over at the CARDS blog to create something using product that's over a year old. I've been cardmaking for about a year now, so I just looked through some of my earliest supply purchases...and gave myself the tsk tsk of shame seeing how much product I haven't used yet! Goodness gracious. ;o)
I decided to use some fun October Afternoon stuff I had left to make this card:

Quite fun to make! Aside from the red cardstock and paper clip, the materials I used are from the Hometown collection. The file folder shape is a die-cut that came in the collection, and I just attached folded cardstock to the back to create the card base. I love doing that -- it's a quick way to make fun shaped cards! :o) The "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" is a journaling card that I cut so that I could arrange the pieces at different angles. The crossword and lady are pieces that I cut out from patterned paper from the collection. I love doing that, too -- it's a fun way to use patterned paper! :o)
