Snail Mail: Better Late Than Never Card

Hey, folks!

Here to share this snail mail themed card I made...

I *love* stuff with a snail mail theme!!  The cute snail and "Snail Mail" are from the Quirky Animals Set One stamp set from Your Next Stamp, and I used the coordinating die to die-cut the snail.  I got a great deal on the stamp set and dies when they had them as Deals of the Week!  The "better late than never" sentiment is from their Smiley Happy Critter Crew Set Four stamp set.  I thought it would be cute to have the snail carrying a little envelope, and I decided to add some twine just for fun.  I love the final look! :D

The two postage stamp dies I used are from the Post & Parcel kit from PTI [now sold out].  I used a Double Stitched Hills die from Your Next Stamp on the striped paper the snail is standing on, and I die-cut the sentiment banners using a die from Taylored Expressions' Banner Stacklets 1 die set.

I'm super close to the deadline, but I'm going to enter my card in the current Virginia's View challenge [better late than never, right??]:

I'm also going to enter my card in Your Next Stamp's current sketch challenge:

My Hobonichi 2017 Haul!

Hey, folks!

I'm back to share a video of my Hobonichi 2017 haul!  This is another video that I uploaded a while back but never got around to posting on my blog [at least not in its own blog post...I do have a Hobonichi page now where I posted my Hobo videos].  I'm so enamored with the entire Hobonichi brand, so I was extra hyper when I made this video!  I can't really apologize for that because that's just how I am sometimes. :D

Christmas Elf Card with Your Next Stamp's Holiday Buddies and Little Notes

Hey, folks!

I'm back with another card! :D

I just found Your Next Stamp this past April, and I'm really enjoying their stamps and dies!  I'm usually not drawn to people stamps [I'm all about animal stamps!], but this elf is pretty cute!  He's from their Holiday Buddies stamp set [which I bought because of the animals, of course!], and after I coloured him with alcohol markers, I die-cut him with the coordinating die.  I can't say "I coloured him with Copics" because I used a mix of different brands.  Copics are great markers, but they're way overpriced, so I just buy what I can find at a good price!

I used the Little Notes stamp set and die set to make that super-cute little clipboard.  I have a thing for anything with an office theme, so I was so happy to finally get the Little Notes stamps and dies during YNS's 40% off sale!  I die-cut the clip of the clipboard from silver cardstock, and I used a black fineliner to write what's on the little note paper. :D

I die-cut the little holly using Taylored Expressions' Little Bits Holly die -- I die-cut multiples of the berries and layered them to give them some dimension.  For the card base, I used We R Memory Keepers dies [linked below].  The card measures just under 4" x 4", so it's a cute little size that just seems easy to decorate and finish.  I shared three more projects using these dies in this blog post. :o)

I'm entering my card in Your Next Stamp's current colour challenge [you just need to use at least three of the colours in order to enter the challenge]:

One Layer Stamped Card with Clearly Besotted's Fruitilicious

Hey, folks!

Here today to share this one layer card that features stamping only!

I rarely make one layer cards because I really love adding dimension to stuff, and one layer cards are challenging to me because I find it trickier to add interest with only one layer.

I also make tons of mistakes while stamping, so a card with this much stamping...NOT EASY FOR ME.  I just used good ol' acrylic blocks to do all of the stamping -- no stamp positioning tool, so no "safety net".  Basically I was REALLY NERVOUS the entire time.  Ha! :D  With each part that I stamped, I held my breath and prayed.  Usually things might go well at first, but a giant mistake will happen when I'm 75%-85% done [you know how it goes], so I was really relieved when this card was finished!  Some of my stamping didn't go well, but I touched up missing spots with markers.  SNEAKY.

I started off by stamping the striped background using a Cover-A-Card background stamp from Impression Obsession called Thick Stripes.  The fruits and sentiment are from Clearly Besotted's Fruitilicious stamp set.  I wanted to 'frame' the sentiment a little bit to draw more attention to it, so I stamped the watermelon seeds on either side of it. :o)

Since my card has stripes on it, I'm entering it in the current challenge at Virginia's View!

Cat Cards for Humble's Adoption Anniversary!! :o)

Hey, folks!

Today we celebrate the anniversary of Humble's adoption! :D  I adopted him 12 years ago!  It has really been the best and most meaningful 12 years of my life, and I would adopt him all over again. :o)  I love you, Humble!!

He really loves blankets and towels, so some of his gifts this year included a couple of new blankets [from the baby section of the store, so they're SUPER soft!] and a new fluffy towel to add to his collection. :o)  He took a nap on EACH ONE today.  That's my boy! :D

Here's a card I made for him a couple of days ago...

The ADORABLE animal stamps are from The Greeting Farm.  The cats are from the Purfect Cats stamp set, and the little guy taking a nap is actually from the Lucky Dogs stamp set.  He looks a little cat-like, doesn't he?  I stamped and paper pieced them to give them striped fur. :o)

The super-sweet sentiment is from an Art Impressions stamp set called Terrier Stackers.  That's a stamp set they designed for the Stamptember event at SSS.  Out of all the products that were released during Stamptember, the Terrier Stackers stamp set was the one item I really, really wanted!  While I *love* the image of the dogs that's in the set, I equally love the sentiment.  Whenever I see animals walking about with their little legs, they melt my heart a million times. :o)  I thought this sentiment would go so well with a lot of the animal stamps I have!

After I finished making the card, I was in the mood to make another for Humble!

These super-cute cat die-cuts are from Simple Stories.  I love them!  I used a We R Memory Keepers banner die for the sentiment [I layered two banners to give a sort of shadow effect], and I wrote "I Love Mew" with a black fineliner. :o)

I'm entering my cards in the November challenge over at Virginia's View, which is to use stripes or plaid on your cards!
