Sending Hugs Card

Hello there!
Today I'm here to share a card I made for Teri. :o) I got a Silhouette Cameo a little while back, and it's been quite fun making things with it!  Every Tuesday, Silhouette offers a different Free Shape of the Week, and the latest offering is a really adorable kite and clouds cut file. I wanted to make a cheery and 'huggy' type of card for Teri, so I thought this cut file would be just the thing to use!

:o)
I hope she'll like this!

The main portion of the kite is actually four individual pieces. I knew I wanted to attach it with dimensional adhesive, so I easily made a 'base' to glue the pieces onto by duplicating the four pieces in Silhouette Studio and then welding them together to create one piece. Of course, you could just as easily glue the four pieces onto a scrap and trim around them, too -- or you could group the four pieces and use the offset option if you want to create a 'shadow' layer instead.
Before gluing the four pieces down, I stamped two of them with the heart pattern from Lawn Fawn's Teeny Tiny Backdrops stamp set. I was going for a tone-on-tone look, but the ink colour was a little too light, so the two stamped sections didn't stand out as much as I had hoped when the four pieces were glued down. I wanted to define the four sections further, so I used white gel pen over the seams. White-gel-pen-faux-stitching helped to bring out the clouds and heart, too. I found just the right sentiment I was looking for in Lawn Fawn's On the Mend stamp set! Oh, and if
you like this kite and these clouds, you still have tomorrow to download the cut file for free from Silhouette!

This week will be a busy blog week because I have a lot to catch up on. Hope you've been having a nice March so far! The weather is almost summer-like here lately -- I've been seeing so many dogs out and about, which is so nice [makes me walk around with a goofy smile on my face, too]! :D
