Get ready for a really lengthy post!
I was planning to re-open my Etsy shop this month and donate a portion of sales to Best Friends Animal Society because April is Forrest's birth month! Forrest is a cat that has really stolen a piece of my heart [Humble is okay with sharing]. :o) Forrest is in Best Friends' Guardian Angel program, which is for animals who have special needs. He celebrated his first birthday on April 3rd! :o) You can see a melt-your-heart-cute slide show/video of Forrest's birthday party by clicking here!
Since the re-opening of my Etsy shop is still on hold, I'm doing another Donation-Giveaway -- actually two! While I can't donate as large of a sum as in the last Donation-Giveaway, I still wanted to do something for Best Friends...as well as for WSPA Canada! Both do amazing work to help animals. Please check out their websites to read more about the important work they do!
I'm amazed by what World Society for the Protection of Animals has been doing for Japan earthquake relief! Many [not all, but many] of the evacuation centres in Japan do not allow pets, so WSPA has committed to support the setting up of 30 temporary animal shelters near human evacuation centres so people can be close to and help care for their pets. In their words, their efforts are being made "via the Animal Disaster Response Team (ADRT), a coalition of four local animal groups, including WSPA’s local member society, Japan Animal Welfare Society (JAWS)." You can read detailed updates by visiting their blog! I'll be making the WSPA donation through WSPA Canada [this one will be in CAD funds].
Phew! On to the Donation-Giveaways! Here's how these Donation-Giveaways will work:

The prize for the WSPA Canada giveaway is:

[1 yard of each type for a total of 3 yards]
If you happen to win one of the giveaways, I'd love to see what you make with these stamps or rub-ons or ribbons/trims! :o) The lovely winner of my first Donation-Giveaway, Gaby, made this super-sweet-super-cute card using a sentiment from the set she won! She's not only a talented card maker, but she also happens to be a genuinely kind-hearted person. :o) Please check out her awesome blog and beautiful cards -- and leave her some comment love!
I know this is quite a lengthy post, but there was a lot of info that I wanted to get across! If you've read it all, thanks for reading to the last line!

What a fantastic giveaway for worthy causes. I am a bit more familiar with the BC SPCA up here but it appears as if the WSPA has a similar set of morals/structures as the SPCA.
Once again, great giveaway and such beautiful cards you make too! :)
What a fantastic giveaway for such a worthy cause! No need to enter me into the giveaway! I just wanted to stop by and tell you how wonderful I think you are.
i am truely awed and inspired by you and how much you do for the charities you care about!

Thanks for sharing the info of WSPA! I will visit them ;) I appreciate the updates on the animal shelters... I hope people keep supporting this noble causes!
And thank you so much for your kind words about my blog and cards ^_^ blushes...
The Best Friends logo is super adorable ♥ I've always wanted to take in a dog for our family, but ever since I started working, I haven't had time (or money) to take care of another member. Can't wait till I get my own place so I can take in a cute puppy!
Oh, and I remember reading about an article about a dog in Japan that wouldn't leave his other doggy friend after the Japan disaster. Totally thought about this when I saw the WSPA banner. It's absolutely amazing reading that article =)
What a cool idea! Thank you for getting the word out there about these fantastic groups! I am a huge fan of Best Friends and really want to go out there for a working vacation one of these days.
Chan, you are truly amazing! The Best Friends video with Forest was so sweet--I like how they got a picture of the cat friend with a party hat--no small feat ;) I'm not familiar with the WSPA in Canada, but it's great their doing good work--it's so important. No need to enter me...I just wanted to pass along how great I think this is!
It is absolutely so kind of you to do this type of stuff!! Best Friends seems like an amazing organization!!! They both do! Praying for all of the people AND animals effected :(.
what a great thing that you are doing to support Best Friends! hope you get lots of comments here :)
I think this is an awesome thing you're doing Chan!! Our furry pets deserve better than some of them get. My "Best Friends" are my border collie, named Buddy, who's 12 now and still acts like a kid!! Until not too long ago, I also had a Bassett Hound, Geraldine"...now she was truly a 'best friend' to me!

I'd also like to mention the WSPA Canada promotion is wonderful! Any time someone is helping our abused/lost/whatever pets, I'm excited! I sent my donation too!

I love this Chan - your dedication to our furry friends is so adorable.
I totally would love to rescue a dog, but I know it would not be right when both hubby and I spend such long hours at work. Meanwhile, it is my next best thing to support animal charities with my time and money. Visiting the local shelter to walk a furry companion who need some love is fun ;)
Thanks for your giveaways in honour of the Best Friends society, hugs, Ruth S
