Here's another sentiment that reminds me of my cat [who happens to make me laugh every day]:

:o)
I got this fun set of punny animal sentiments not that long ago in a mail order, and I've been thinkin' about making a duck card since I ordered it. When Paige from CARDS issued a challenge to make a card with a punny sentiment, I thought it was about time to make that duck card!
Hope your day has been a crafty one!
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, shimmery cardstock from Bazzill Basics, stamps from Sassafras [Stitchery] and Technique Tuesday [Dog & Pony Sentiments], pigment ink from Tsukineko and Papertrey, die-cuts from K&Co., border punch from EK Success [Scalloped Scallop], corner punch from Fiskars
Here's a card I made yesterday for the current fabric challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog:

I know fabric tape isn't anything new on the market, but this is the first time I've used fabric tape on a card. :o) Quite easy and fun to use!

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the flower is made out of vellum. I was thinkin' that the brad's stitched design was a bit "fancy" next to the polka dots and stripes on the fabric tape strips, but I wanted to use it anyway because the colours were a nice match [and it seemed to go well with the fabric theme!]. :o)
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, linen vellum from Papertrey, fabric tape from Making Memories, stitched brad from K&Co., die from Sizzix for Stampin' Up [Blossom Party], border punch from EK Success [Scalloped Scallop]
I saw this challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog yesterday and thought it'd be fun to play along! Here's the card I made:

I love this sentiment -- it's very Humble. :o)
I was inspired, of course, by the colours and flower in the challenge photo -- and also the cute wavy edges on the dishes! And there I go again with another shaped card! :o)
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, linen vellum from Papertrey, patterned paper from Sassafras and Cosmo Cricket, sentiment die-cut from K&Co., button from my collection, sticker from BasicGrey, embroidery floss, embossing folder from Cuttlebug [Herringbone], dies from Spellbinders [Labels Four], Papertrey [Rickrack Border] and Sizzix for Stampin' Up [Blossom Party]
As mentioned before, I really love making shaped cards -- even more than making rectangular cards! They're so much FUN. :o)
In the latest challenge over at the CARDS blog, the challenge is to make something with berries. The story behind the challenge is that Paige from CARDS saw some crazy, gigantic strawberries at the grocery store. Immediately, I knew I wanted to make a strawberry-shaped card -- but my card probably isn't even as big as the strawberries she saw! Ha!
While I designed the card with a slight lean to the left, it's leaning a lot more to the left in the photograph because that's the only way I could get the card to stand up for the picture. Ha!
Normally, I prefer spelling out whole words, but "you" would have looked a bit cramped in the banner, I think.
Thanks for having a look, and I hope this card brought you a smile today!
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, glittered cardstock from DCWV, chipboard shapes from Cosmo Cricket, alpha stickers from Pink Paislee, die from Sizzix [Banner], design card for Slice [Farm Life]
There's a challenge over at the CARDS blog to create something using product that's over a year old. I've been cardmaking for about a year now, so I just looked through some of my earliest supply purchases...and gave myself the tsk tsk of shame seeing how much product I haven't used yet! Goodness gracious. ;o)
I decided to use some fun October Afternoon stuff I had left to make this card:

Quite fun to make! :o)
Aside from the red cardstock and paper clip, the materials I used are from the Hometown collection. The file folder shape is a die-cut that came in the collection, and I just attached folded cardstock to the back to create the card base. I love doing that -- it's a quick way to make fun shaped cards! :o) The "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" is a journaling card that I cut so that I could arrange the pieces at different angles. The crossword and lady are pieces that I cut out from patterned paper from the collection. I love doing that, too -- it's a fun way to use patterned paper! :o)
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Stampin' Up, patterned paper from October Afternoon, die-cut and journaling card from October Afternoon, marker from American Crafts, design card for Slice [Fall/Back to School], paper clip from office supply
I mentioned before that I have a crazy love for office-themed supplies. I mean, in my early teen years, I bought myself a comb binding machine just because I had to have one. I made [and still make] little journals and booklets for myself with that machine. I just love office-y things.
So I guess it's no surprise that I also have a crazy love for envelopes. My envelope collection has taken over a 13" x 13" x 15" cupboard. I really love mini envelopes, so that love combined with office-y love pretty much made me stop breathing when Maya Road came out with those mini kraft [oh, how I love kraft] envelopes -- I'm sure you know which envelopes I'm talking about!
And so, I could not resist this challenge over at Everything But the Kitchen Sink to use an envelope on a project! Here's the card I made:

I used the off-cut from a scalloped border die-cut I made for a different look than what I usually do. It was so much fun to make this! And I really can't get enough of those Maya Road envelopes. Along the right edge of the card, I used a roller stamp from Glitz to add some subtle detail -- they call it a Roller Doodle. How fun is that to say?? :o)
Icing on the cake: this awesome die-cut from K&Co. fits just right in the envelope!

I guess it was meant to be!
I've been waiting to find a stamp that says "Top Secret" -- for now, good ol' alpha stickers will do the trick. :o)
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, patterned paper from Sassafras, roller stamp from Glitz, watermark ink from Tsukineko, mini envelope from Maya Road, die-cuts from K&Co., stickers from my collection, alpha stickers from Jenni Bowlin, ribbon from Stampin' Up, mini staples and stapler from Tim Holtz, die from Papertrey [Large Scalloped Border]
I love, love mini albums. There's something about holding a chunky little book in your hands with all of its layers and embellishments and pockets and ribbons and extra surprises...there's nothing like The Mini Album.

I made this little guy for the Cosmo Cricket sketch challenge. :o) I turned the sketch upside down. The inside pages aren't finished yet, but I thought the sketch made for a fun cover! I used the Joy Ride collection -- love the colours of that collection! I really enjoyed making this...then again, what's not to love about crafting? :o)
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, element from Cosmo Cricket, chipboard shape from Cosmo Cricket, stickers from Cosmo Cricket, rope cord from Stampin' Up, hardware from Stampin' Up, corner punch from Marvy Uchida
Before going to bed yesterday, I came across this challenge on Caardvarks -- the challenge is to make a monochromatic card. Since they're celebrating Core'dinations cardstock, I decided to use some of my green Core'dinations to make this card today:

Clean and simple. And I'm jazzed about it! :o) Does anyone else still say "jazzed"?
I really like "rumpling" scallops like that for added dimension. And while I don't normally do a whole lot of sanding, I really like the sanded Swiss Dots -- fun!
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Core'dinations and Papertrey, embossing folder from Cuttlebug [Swiss Dots], die from Papertrey [Large Scalloped Border], design card for Slice [Jungle], corner punch from Marvy Uchida, sandpaper from my dad :o)
Last night I made this card for the Cosmo Cricket colour challenge:

I'm very happy with how it turned out! The happy tomato and the bright colours make me smile. :o) I really love shaped cards -- they're so fun to make!! My camera did something funny with the colours, but the ribbon and yummy vintage button are very similar greens in-person. :o)
I looove that green button, and I've been hanging onto it for a long time. Sometimes it's a little tough to use certain supplies when I really, really love 'em, but then I remind myself that it's way more fun to use them than to "save" them.
Another challenge card coming up next!
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, chipboard shapes from Cosmo Cricket, buttons from my collection, ribbon from Cosmo Cricket, twine, dies from Spellbinders [Labels One] and Papertrey [Rickrack Border], border punch from EK Success [Scalloped Scallop]
Waltzingmouse Stamps is turning 1-year-old! :o) To celebrate their first birthday, Claire Brennan, owner and designer of Waltzingmouse, is holding a contest to create a card based on her sketch. I've always been a little "behind with the times", so I didn't start using sketches until recently [unless I count my own notebook doodles when an idea floats into my head]. The one Claire posted was the third sketch I've tried my hand at. I really like using them!
Since it's a birthday celebration for Waltzingmouse, I wanted to make a birthday card. As you might guess from the card I created, I have a crazy love for any supplies with an office-theme. As usual, what I like to do when things start goin' a little "serious-looking" is to include something that I find kind of funny...
In this case, that's the sweet little mouse stamp, which I've had since I was a kid. :o) He just makes me laugh, what with that trance-like expression of his. He and the waltz dance steps are stamped in the darker blue to mimic notebook doodles in pen. The light blue stamped background is one of my favourite background stamps with all of its ledger-y-goodness.
Things I used to make this:
Cardstock from Papertrey, stamps from Collage Press, American Crafts, Stampin' Up, Inkadinkado, and stamp from childhood, dye ink from Tsukineko, pigment ink from Tsukineko and Papertrey, clip from Tim Holtz, ribbon from Celebrate It, dies from Spellbinders [Small Pinking Circles], border punch from Stampin' Up [Spiral]
I will say it no matter how nerdy it makes me sound: every time I walk by my button collection, I start smiling.

:o)
I love the happy colours. My favourites would have to be the ones in the bottom left compartment, which holds the fun shaped ones -- I especially adore the flower-shaped buttons...

And who can resist that Humpty Dumpty button? Adorable!
Hope you have an exceptionally crafty day!
Welcome to my new blog! I've had to say farewell to the shop blog because I was doing a terrible job of maintaining it, but donation information can still be found at Humblechan.com. :o)
I've wanted to start a craft blog for quite some time, but to be honest, I was kind of scared. Yes, scared. I guess it might sound kind of strange, but I feel really attached to some of the things I make, so it's difficult for me to "let them out into the world." I'm kind of an oddball, I realize. But then I thought, trying is better than not. I think this is going to be fun. :o)
